About Salvation

Each of us senses that something is missing in our lives. Each person is longing for something to fill that hole. What you are trying to fill is the connection with God that was lost when Adam and Eve fell in the Garden of Eden. All the material things that humanity pursues cannot and will not fill that void. The Bible says there is a way that seems right to a man, but the end of that way is death. My friend Jesus is what, or better who, you have been searching for. The Bible tells us that there is no other name, than the name of Jesus, under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. Salvation is a gift from God, you do not have to earn it; Jesus already did that for you.

In our contemporary society it has become fashionable to ridicule Christians and characterize us as fools to believe in God, Jesus, and heaven. The Bible says only a fool would say there is no God. The Bible says that the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to those who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and the cleverness of the clever I will set aside.” For since in the wisdom of God the world did not come to know God, God was well pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

My friend what you are searching for is something to fill your heart not your head. Once you receive Jesus into your heart, God will send the Holy Spirit so that your mind will be equipped to more clearly understand the Word of God, the Bible.

Prayer of Salvation

The Bible says that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness (right-standing with God),  and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. So now I want you to say this prayer out loud:

Father God, I believe that Jesus is the Son of God who died for me, and that You raised Him from the dead.  I repent of my sins and I turn to Jesus. Jesus, I make you the ruler of my life, come into my heart and live in me and through me. Amen

Your Next Steps

Congratulations, you are now part of the family of God. The next steps are important for you to maintain the work that God is doing in your heart. I want you to take the following steps:

1)    Read the Gospel of John at least three times over the next 30 days.

2)    Find a Bible teaching church. If you are in the New York area, please come to our services on Saturday evenings at the Dwyer Cultural Center.

3)    I encourage you to be water baptized as soon as possible. In the Book of Acts new believers were baptized immediately after confessing Jesus as Lord. Your confession that Jesus is Lord is sufficient for salvation; however, I believe that water baptism is an empowerment for Christian living. It is an outward sign of an inward change. The Book of Colossians 2:11 says “having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.” I believe there is a spiritual cleansing and empowerment that takes place that enables you to more easily adapt to your new life as a Christian.
